The Mighty Warriors look like they are in for a nightmare campaign at this years’ Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) Finals start on Saturday after ZIFA failed to secure air tickets for their flight to Cameroon. The ladies’ preparations are in disarray as they were supposed to be leaving tomorrow so that they have ample time for preparation and acclimatization before facing South Africa’s Banyana Banyana on Saturday, the same team who recently walloped the Mighty Warriors 3-0 in an international friendly.
Zifa communications manager Xolisani Gwesela confirmed the travel chaos:
They should be leaving on Wednesday, but we have not secured the tickets.
We don’t have sponsors, but we are working on something and hopefully it will materialize
