This Flag movement founder, Pastor Evan Mawarire has been named the 2016 African Person of the year by the Daily Maverick.

Mawarire reminded Zimbabweans that ordinary people really can make a difference, and that words can be as powerful as bullets. For this, Robert Mugabe labelled him a “disgrace” and “a great shame”. We call him African of the Year.
