PSL clubs reject Zifa's imposition of Dynamos President Kenny Mubaiwa as its chairperson

Clubs in the Premier Soccer League (PSL) through its lawyers Coghlan Welsh and Guest wrote to ZIFA, rejecting the imposition of Dynamos president Kenny Mubaiwa to stand in for the suspended Peter Dube.

PSL lawyer Wellington Magaya wrote to Philip Chiyangwa outlining the clubs’ position and questioned the section of the ZIFA constitution that had been used to appoint Mubaiwa. They argue that the section does not give Zifa power to appoint Mubaiwa. They also argue that the PSL will be managed by the emergency committee that was appointed at a PSL special congress and for which Mubaiwa is a member. The committee includes Chicken Inn chairman Lifa Ncube and Triangle boss Lovemore Matsikinyidze and outgoing CAPS United chairman Lewis Uriri who has however withdrawn after stepping down as CAPS United chairman.

The clubs also challenged the ZIFA interference on their sponsorship deals.
