Media personality Ruvheneko Parirenytwa has filed court papers saying that Tafadzwa Musarara should sue her former employer ZiFM Stereo instead. Musarara filed a $200 000 lawsuit against Ruvheneko after she allegedly humiliated him during a radio interview on Zi-FM last year. However, Ruvheneko is arguing that she was doing her job and denied defaming Musarara. She continued that Musarara should also sue her former employees as she was doing her job.
Ruvheneko’s lawyers Coghlan Welsh and Guests legal practitioners filed a response who excerpts reads:
The Defendant’s actions during the time in question were within the course and scope of her employment with Zi FM Stereo. In as much as the Defendant denies defaming the Plaintiff, it is only proper that the Defendant’s erstwhile employer be joined to these proceedings given that what is in issue transpired during the course and scope of Defendant’s employment with Zi FM Sterio,
The Defendant shall accordingly apply for the joiner of her erstwhile employer to these proceedings.
Zi-FM is owned by Supa Mandiwanzira, the Minister of ICT.
