Zimbabwe and South Africa in talks over special dispensation visas

Speaking to ZBC News in a telephone interview Zimbabwe’s Consul–General in South Africa, Mr Henry Mukonoweshuro said discussions are still underway with South African government on the way forward regarding Zimbabwean special dispensation visas.

This comes after the South African government announced that Zimbabweans whose special dispensation visas which expire on the 31^st of December 2017 will be required to come back home to apply for mainstream visas and permits under the Immigration Act. Zimbabweans in South Africa are concerned whether they will be allowed to extend their permits while in South Africa and if they will be granted permanent residence for those who have stayed in that country for over 5 years.
