Mugabe dismisses grand coalition as a " huge pile of zeros"
In an interview with Tazzen Mandizvidza on state-controlled television channel, Zbc Tv, President Robert Mugabe dismissed the mooted grand coalition of opposition parties as a huge of zeros and said that his party was not going to lose any sleep over that matter. Speaking just before his 93rd birthday, Mugabe equated the opposition parties to zeroes and said that no matter how many of them joined forces, the grand total would still be zero.
Said,Mugabe:
My teacher said when we were in Grade 1 that if you add two zeros, the answer is not two, it remains zero,
FeedbackIf you increase them to 10, they just amount to a huge pile of zeros; nothing. So we are not afraid.
Mugabe also denied infiltrating the opposition resulting in opposition parties splitting up and some politicians being expelled from the parties. The president said that the opposition was total to blame for this as it was disorganized and had no clear principles.
Mugabe said:
We haven’t done any such thing; its failures on their part only and quarrels within them.
They are not as well organised as ourselves, as our party, no definite principles guiding them
