Under fire, Zanu PF Political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere received more bad news after the Zanu PF executive in Mashonaland Central endorsed a petition calling for his expulsion. The petition also recommends the expulsion of Kasukuwere’s brother Dickson Mafios. This follows demonstrations in Bindura against Kasukuwere and Mafios’ leadership.
Zanu-PF Mashonaland Central deputy provincial chairman Kazembe Kazembe said:
Yes, we met today to read out to the provincial executive the grievances outlined in the petition that was handed to the party’s leadership on Monday.
The province discussed the petition and agreed that it must be sent to the people it is addressed to, that is the President, the Politburo and the Central Committee.
The petition was unanimously endorsed in its entirety. Our quorum was properly constituted and now we have to forward the petition to the national leadership.
Kasukuwere’s situation however, may not be as dire, after President Mugabe questioned the Herald’s editorial policy for attacking Kasukuwere. This might come across as a subtle defence considering that the President said nothing about the attacks on Eunice Sandi-Moyo and Sarah Mahoka.
