Rugare Gumbo says his party will not join Tsvangirai's grand coalition
Zimbabwe People First (ZimPF) founding elder, Rugare Gumbo has said that his party will not join Morgan Tsvangirai’s proposed coalition because it will not be effective.
Said Gumbo:
We will not be part of such a coalition which came about through a rushed process without the consultation of stakeholders, including war veterans, the business community, civic society and social groups . . . because it will not yield the change that Zimbabweans are yearning for.
FeedbackGumbo’s comments come after Tsvangirai’s MoUs with Welshman Ncube and Joice Mujuru; who recently left ZimPF to form her own National People’s Party (NPP) following disagreements with Gumbo and Didymus Mutasa. Responding to Gumbo’s comments, MDC-T’s spokesperson Obert Gutu said the ZimPF founder got it wrong and that no genuine political party has been excluded from the talks.
