Wicknell honours promise to Highlanders and pays $4 000 fine

Businessman Wicknell Chivayo has honoured the pledge that he had made to Highlanders Football Club and paid $4 000 for the club. Highlanders were fined $4000 by the Premier Soccer League after their match against Dynamos at Barbourfields was abandoned due to crowd trouble.

Former Chronicle editor and Highlanders fan, Mduduzi Mathuthu said that Chivayo had, in fact, paid the fine as promised. Writing on Twitter, Mathuthu said:

Highlanders fan @wicknellchivayo(Wicknell Chivayo) has PAID THE $4, 000 fine imposed on (the) club for crowd trouble that led to abandonment of Dynamos match.
