Chombo denies that Zanu-PF Politburo will discuss allegations of Mnangagwa plotting to topple Mugabe

Minister of home Affairs and Zanu-PF National Secretary for Administration Dr Ignatius Chombo yesterday dismissed claims that the ruling party will hold a “special” Politburo meeting on Vice-President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s alleged involvement in succession politics. This comes after the private media reported details of the Politburo meeting to decide the fate of Zanu-PF national political commissar Saviour Kasukuwere. Chombo told the Sunday Mail,

I am unaware of it (‘special’ Politburo meeting); when there is a Politburo meeting I always come to the Press to inform you. There is no such meeting.
