Mujuru continues to lose members as Bulawayo spokesperson steps down
Joice Mujuru’s National People’s Party (NPP) continues losing top officials after Bulawayo spokesperson Geneva Sibanda, reportedly stepped down due to other pressing personal commitments. He joins other 50 members who quit the party citing factionalism and tribalism.
In a WhatsApp message Sibanda said that he was quitting the party to focus on a research project. Said Sibanda:
To all my friends and colleagues, may I take this opportunity to thank you so much for the journey we travelled together since the formation of this party and the support you gave me as the Bulawayo provincial spokesperson. I am so much pressed with so many things at the moment, part of it being a research project I am currently involved in and other. I am therefore taking sabbatical leave to focus on the said and also put my life on track.
FeedbackNewsDay tried without success to get a comment from him. However, party spokesperson Methuseli Moyo said that Sibanda had probably not resigned but just taken a break.
