Crime rate declines in Mbare

The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that crime has gone down in Mbare district in the period from January to May. According to the ZRP, 10 514 cases were recorded this year, which is 9.1 percent decrease from the 11 565 cases recorded last year. Officer Commanding Mbare district headquarters Chief Superintendent Oscar Mugomeri appealed to the community to partner with the police to help in the reduction of crimes. This was reiterated by Mbare Ward 4 Councillor Martin Matinyanya who emphasised that a good working relationship between the police and the community was necessary for bringing the crime rate down.
