It's not my responsibility to choose my successor: President Robert Mugabe
President Robert Mugabe has reportedly told Minister of War Veterans Tshinga Dube that it is not his duty to choose his successor, saying that the respsonsibility lies with the Zanu PF National Congress. This comes after, Tshinga Dube had urged the President to groom his successor saying that it should not be a crime to discuss the succession issue. Tshinga is now reportedly satisfieed after the President told him that according to the ZanuPF situation, he could only name his deputies and not his successors. Tshinga Dube said:
I do not want to dwell on that problem anymore. He [Mugabe] has said the problem of choosing his successor lies with Congress. I have just put a full stop on that issue. I am not going to discuss it anymore because my Commander-in-Chief has said so. I do not want to appear like I am raising issues against him,
