We will never prosecute those who killed white farmers during land reform: President Mugabe
President Robert Mugabe has declared that all locals who are alleged to have killed former white farmers during the land reform program in 2000 are immune to prosecution because the farmers were resisting a government program. He also urged newly resettled farmers not to work with the former white farmers or to lease them part of their farms.
Speaking at the Heroes Day commemorations at the national shrine yesterday, Mugabe said:
Yes, we have those who were killed when they resisted. We will never prosecute those who killed them. I ask: Why we should arrest them?
FeedbackSome (white farmers) are coming back under the guise of coming to collect their tractors or asking to work with the new farmers. Some of us are accepting. They (new farmers) are being persuaded like ladies being courted by men without even considering who they are dealing with.
