Mugabe blasts traffic police, tells them to stop harassing people & corruption at roadblocks
Addressing people at the National Heroes Acre where he presided over the burial of George Rutanhire and Maud Muzenda, President Robert Mugabe criticised the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) and told them to stop corruption and harassing people at roadblocks.
He also said that instead of asking citizens for money, Government is willing to give them farms and help them start businesses so that they can be self sustainable. Said Mugabe:
Mapurisa ngavave mapurisa kwete zvetirikunzwa zvekuti murikumirira vanhu mumigwagwa muchivabhadharisa mari. Zvino kana mavakuuraya vanhu saka basa rechipurisa toti rava ripi? Kana muchida minda huyayi tikupeyi murime. Kana muchida kutanga mabhizimisi, even in the transport sector, batanai mutenge mabhazi enyu. To you also [ZDF Commander General Constantino] Chiwenga, clean your own dirty please but what I have said [about the police] is was has raised public outcry.
