'Mugabe called Sekeramayi when he thought he was dying': Grace
Grace Mugabe revealed that President Robert Mugabe called Defence Minister Sydney Sekeramayi when he had a case of food poisoning and he thought he was dying. Sekeramayi is a qualified medical doctor, however Grace said Mugabe called so that they could talk not seek medical assistance. David Parirenyatwa who is health minister in Mugabe’s cabinet is a medical doctor.
In June this year, Higher Education Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo who is believed to be a member of the G40 Faction inclined to Grace, stated that Sekeramayi is a far better option to succeed President Mugabe than Mnangagwa. Moyo said Sekeramayi is “humble, grounded and someone who carried the stature of a president”.
Speaking at the Zanu-PF Youth Interface Rally held in Bindura on Saturday, Grace said:
He was sick and thought he was dying. He asked me to call [defence minister Sydney] Sekeramayi so they could talk before he died, but he recovered and we never said anything.
