OpenZinara in $71 million tender scandal, Gumbo launches investigation
Transport and Infrastructural Development Minister Dr. Joram Gumbo has set up a committee to look into findings of a forensic audit conducted by Grant Thornton on the Zimbabwe National Road Administration (ZINARA).
The audit revealed that Zinara awarded tenders to several companies worth over 71 million dollars without following proper procurement procedures, resulting in the auditors recommending that an official investigation be launched. Addressing a news conference in Harare on Friday, Dr. Gumbo said appropriate action will be taken following recommendations from the committee.
