Youths should be given farming plots and not housing stands says, Grace Mugabe

First lady Grace Mugabe has said that she is against the idea of giving Zanu-PF youths residential stands, because the majority of them do not have the money to develop the st ds. Instead, Grace wants the youths to be allocated plots where they will be able to carry out farming activities to earn money.

Addressing youths at the official launch of the Empower Bank in Harare last week. Said the first lady,

I spoke to Chipanga (Zanu PF youth secretary) and said, I am not happy and that I am against the housing stand programme.

But if you give them small pieces of land its better, because giving them residential stands in town, most of them do not have money to build.

But these stands that you are rushing to grab, you won’t be able to develop them because you don’t have the money.”

Land is far much better because you will leave that land to your grandchildren.

She urged the youths not to rush to urban areas saying that there was poor service delivery, especially in Harare she said residents were forced to drink dirty water.

Said Grace:

The water we drink is not fit for human consumption and we sometimes depend on dirty water.

But the story is different and better in most rural areas.
