School pupil hangs self over boyfriend

A 16-year-old, form 2 student, from Nyamashato Secondary School in Murewa, hanged herself using a necktie. The girl is reported to have become despondent after her boyfriend dumped her following threats from school authorities. The girl was having an affair with a classmate and when the school authorities discovered it they reprimanded the two, leading to the boyfriend dumping her.

The incident was reported to the police who took the body to the Murewa District Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem.
