Zanu-PF speaks on Mnangagwa's response to Mugabe firing him

Announcing the expulsion of former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa from the party, Zanu-PF Secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo responded to a press statement issued by the axed VP. Mnangagwa was expelled from Zanu-PF on Wednesday following recommendations that were made by the party’s 10 Provincial Coordinating Committees. He was also fired on Monday by President Robert Mugabe from his post as Vice President for disloyalty among other charges.

Khaya Moyo is quoted by The Herald saying that they will take note of Mnangagwa’s response hinting that they will offer a full response soon. Said Khaya Moyo:

We do not deliberate on what is not addressed to us but we take note.

On Wednesday, Mnangagwa issued a press statement saying that he was in exile after leaving by air on Tuesday evening, and would be back one day to lead Zimbabwe. Said Mnangagwa:

I would like my fellow citizens to know that I am out of the country, and safe. My sudden departure was caused by incessant threats on my person, life and family by those who have attempted before through various forms of elimination, including poisoning.

Mnangagwa also hinted that he will be back soon to take control of Government without specifying how he intends to achieve the change. Said Mnangagwa:

As I leave this post (VP) for now, I encourage all loyal members of the party to remain in the party, to register to vote, as we will, very soon, control the levers of power in our beautiful party and country. Let not your hearts be troubled for peace, love, unity, development and prosperity are around the corner. I will be communicating with you soon and shall return to Zimbabwe to lead you.
