Reports say Mnangagwa "is broken, terrified and scared" as business associates avoid him
According to a report in the weekly newspaper, The Standard, former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa is holed up in South Africa where he is said to be desperate and isolated. His former business partners are reported to be avoiding Mnangagwa. The former vice-president is reported to be willing to negotiate with President Robert Mugabe after getting fired last week for disloyalty. However, it is believed that his supporters are the ones urging Mnangagwa to fight back against his dismissal. Mnangagwa’s current whereabouts are unknown, as there have been other reports saying he is in China.
Sources who spoke to The Standard said:
Mnangagwa is in Pretoria and did not go to China as is being claimed. He is broken, terrified and scared.
FeedbackHe is desperate to reconnect with Mugabe and his wife so that he can be allowed to return home.
He has told his children that he is not feeling well and is desperate to return home and rest but his supporters are putting pressure on him to fight his dismissal.
