"I was used" says Chipanga

During a broadcast aired on state media yesterday, the Zanu-PF Youth League head, Kudzai Chipanga claimed that he was used. There has been general suspicion in Zimbabwe that the Youth League was just a tool in the factional fights between the G40 and Lacoste factions.

Yesterday Chipanga put credence those rumours, confirming that the “Ready-to-die-for-Mugabe” statement was not authored by him or the Youth League. Chipanga claims that the anti-military intervention statement saying that the Youth League was prepared to die for President Robert Mugabe and that Constantino Chiwenga as the Commander of the Zimbabwe Defence Forces should not hide behind the barrel of the gun, was handed to them by one Rodney Dangarembizi.
