High Noon For Mugabe As Zanu-PF Summons Legislators For Urgent Meeting At Party Headquarters
The ruling Zanu-PF party has called all its Members of Parliament (MPs) to attend an urgent meeting at the Zanu-PF Headquarters. The ruling party is now working on impeaching President Robert Mugabe after he seemed to ignore the party’s ultimatum to announce his retirement by midday today.
Mugabe who is under tremendous pressure to resign was sacked as party leader and first secretary of Zanu-PF by a special session of the Central Committee on Sunday. He has been resisting calls to step down despite losing power to the Zimbabwe Defence Forces (ZDF) who seized power in a military takeover last week. Earlier on today, the party’s politburo met and agreed to send Mugabe the resolutions recalling him as party leader and first secretary of Zanu-PF
