Former Agriculture, Mechanisation and Irrigation Development Minister Joseph Made has been summoned by the Parliamentary Portfolio Committee on Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement to explain his unilateral appointment of Grain Marketing Board (GMB) General Manager, Mr Rocky Mutenha.
Made was also summoned to explain the irregular appointment of his relative to serve as senior executive manager at GMB for 18 months. Made allegedly appointed Mutenha ahead of Dr Millicent Mombeshora and Mr David Machingaidze who had the highest scores during the interviews. He also appointed his relative and GMB board deputy chairperson Mr Basilio Sandamu and the chairperson, Mr Charles Chikaura to act as senior executive managers for 18 months.
Made has been summoned together with Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture and Rural Resettlement Mr Rings Chitsiko, Dr Gift Machengete, GMB Board Chairperson Mr Charles Chimaera and Mr Sandamu to appear for a hearing on the 27th of March.
