Nelson Chamisa Accuses Zanu-PF Of Engineering Violence In MDC-T
MDC-T President Nelson Chamisa has accused the ruling Zanu-PF party of engineering violence in his party by planting agent provocateurs in order to tarnish its image. This comes after vice president Thokozani Khupe was attacked on two separate occasions, at Morgan Tsvangirai’s burial in Bulawayo and at a meeting in Bulawayo. Addressing supporters in Harare Chamisa said,
I am worried as your leader, as a leader of the party of excellence, that there are tendencies of Zanu PF trying to creep into our midst.
It is not our culture. MDC-T is populated by Democrats, doves and peace ambassadors.
FeedbackI am surprised when Zanu PF tries to present itself as holier than thou. We know what they are doing. We have security reports. They are planting their people, some come wearing MDC-T T-shirts, while others try to influence our members to engage in violence.
The European Union and Canada said that the MDC-T was losing credibility in the international community because of the acts of violence. MDC-T member Job Sikhala also claimed in an interview that the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) was behind the violence that took place at Tsvangirai’s funeral.
