The Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) has released a statement in which it is calling for suitably qualified young Zimbabweans to fill a number of vacancies. Below is a statement from the Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) calling for new recruits.

Dietician Officer
• Aged 30 years and below.
• Degree in Hospital Food Science and Services or an equivalent qualification
Legal Officer
• LLBS Honours Degree
• Additional Qualifications and working experience is an added advantage.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Works Officer
• Aged 30 years and below.
• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar post.
Dietician
• 5 ‘0’ Level passes with grade ‘C’ or better including English Language.
• Aged 30 years and below.
• Diploma in Hospital Food Science and Services.
Cooks
• 5 Level passes with grade ‘C or better Including English Language
• Aged 30 years and below.
• Cookery Certa flute from a Polytechnic.
PA/ Executive Assistants
• Diploma in Secretarial Studies.
• 5 0 Level passes with Grade C or better including English, Shona or Ndebele
• Aged 30 years and below.
• At least 5 years working experience in the same field.
Draughtsman
• Degree in Draughtsman with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Material Scientist
• Degree in Material Science with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Metallurgist
• Diploma in Metallurgy with a minimum of 5 years experience.
• Aged 30 years and below
Patternmaker
• Class 1 Journeyman plus 10 years experience.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Aircraft Spray Painter
• Aircraft Apprentice Trained.
• Class 1 Journeyman with 5 ‘0’ Levels including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Fitter Machinist
• Class 1 Journeyman with 5 ‘0’ Levels Including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Panel Beater/Spray painter
• Class 1 journeyman with 5 ‘0’ Levels including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Aircraft Carpenter
• Class 1 journeyman with 5 ‘0’ Levels including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject. • Aircraft woodwork experience is a requirement.
• Aged 30 years and below.
Medical Officers
• MBChB or its equivalence.
• 3 years working experience.
• Be aged 30 years and below.
• A valid Practicing Certificate from Medical & Dental Practitioners Council of Zimbabwe
Graduate Nurses
• Be a holder of a BSc Nursing Science Degree or its equivalence.
• 3 years working experience.
• Aged 30 years and below.
• Be registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and
• with a current Practicing Certificate.
Occupational Therapists
• At least 3 years working experience and a track record in the area of occupational therapy.
• The candidate must possess good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills at all levels within and outside the Organisation.
• Be in possession of a degree in Occupational Therapy with a recognisable institution.
• Be register est with the Health Professions Council.
• Be 30 years of age and below.
Sewer Operators
•Aged 30 years and below
• 5 0 level passes with grade C or better including English

• Minimum 2 ‘A’ level passes and any other science subject.
• Aged between 18 -22 years.
• Must be single.
Trainee Aircraft Technicians
• Aged between 18 -22 years and single.
• 5 ‘0’ Levels at grade C or better including Mathematics, English Language and a Science subject.
• Advanced Level will be an added advantage.
Regiment Infantry/ Air Defence
•Aged between 18-22 years.
• Minimum 5 ‘0’ level passes at grade C or better.
• Must be single.
Equippers / Procurement clerks
• 5 ‘0’ Level Subjects including Maths, English and Accounts or any commercial subject.
• ‘A’ Level or a Certificate in Purchasing and Supply Management is an added advantage
Aged between 18 -22 years.
Fire Fighters
• 5 ‘0’ levels including English and Mathematics.
• Class 4 (four) driver’s licence, Class 2 Driver’s licence will be an added advantage.
• Aged 25 years and below.
• Must be physically fit.

Interested candidates must report to the following Provincial Centres for selection by 0730hrs on dates indicated against each province. Bring original certificates

For pilots and technicians bring pen, pencil and mathematical set for aptitude tests. Part of the selection process involves a 10km road run, therefore, aspiring candidates are advised to bring sporting attire.
