Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) has tasked Industrial Psychology (Pvt) Ltd to recruit Heath Streak’s replacement following his dismissal after failing to qualify for the Cricket World Cup.
Streak through his lawyer George Mlotshwa, a senior partner at Titan Law, had indicated that he will stop ZC from appointing new personnel to fill his position. In a letter, Mlotshwa indicated to ZC that an attempt to recruit Streak’s replacement is unlawful. Part of the letter written by Mlotshwa to ZC reads:
Our clients note, with bemusement, the consistent bungling, amounting to harassment, associated with the unlawful attempts to terminate their employment contracts with Zimbabwe Cricket. We wish to point out that:
1. The section 12 (4a) and 12 (4) of the Labour Act 28:01 sought to be relied upon in terminating our client(s) contracts are of no force and effect. They simply do not apply in the present circumstances.
2. Any attempt to terminate our clients’ employments contracts on notice, is, for the record, also of no force and effect at law.
3. Any attempt to employ any other person in the positions our clients are presently employed by ZC is, and will be, patently unlawful, and also of no force and effect

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Ensure individual players are prepared, developed and managed for high performance.
Establish a culture and style of play supported by key systems and processes, will contribute to a consistent high performance and development of Zimbabwe cricketers.
Ensure the conduct of the national team is in keeping up With the highest standards of integrity.
Develop and implement coaching plans to meet individual development needs by a player and team.
Provide direction on the game strategy and style of play that enables field success.
Effectively manage the workload of the players, and enhancing their contribution to the cause of the team.
In conjunction with the Captain and Team Manager, maintain and develop a culture that ensures player behaviour is consistent with the relevant codes of conduct.
In conjunction with the Captain and other members of the team management, communicate expectations of player behaviour (non-negotiable) at the commencement of each tour.
Reinforce and develop within the team, greater recognition of the Spirit of Cricket and the responsibility of players to promote the game and show it in a positive light.
Build positive relationships with players, team management and other stakeholders.
Develop a close working relationship with and oversee the technical aspects in relation to players’ health, fitness and mental preparedness.
Clearly understand ZC’s strategic framework and incorporate relevant focus into dealings with players, other staff and stakeholders.
Build a world class coaching and technical team.
Qualifications and Experience
The candidate should have attained a recognised coaching certificate at a higher level, and an impeccable record of coaching at first class and international level.
The candidate must be result oriented and will be judged purely on his/ her results.
Demonstrate an understanding and ability of employing a multidisciplinary approach to coaching.
The candidate should have communication skills befitting the coach of an international team, along with the ability to effectively convey the right m.sages and must demonstrate proficiency in English.
Knowledge of the latest technologies/trends in sports software will be an added advantage.
Demonstrate methods/tools to effectively measure individual player performance and present metrics to the Board, which will in turn measure the performance of the team.
Good leadership skills and ability to motivate players and the national technical team.
