Stephanie Mavunga,23, has become the first Zimbabwean to be drafted into the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) of North America. Mavunga was picked as a surprise second-round pick, and 14th overall by the Indiana Fever, during the WNBA Draft held at the Nike New York Headquarters on April 12.
Mavunga is on the same team with her sister-in-law, Jeanette Pohlen-Mavunga and former Ohio State University teammate and fellow draftee Kelsey Mitchell.
