Govt Evicts Mnangagwa's Neighbour, Allocates Land To 5th Brigade

President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s neighbour, Reverend Isaac Tititi Moyo is reported to have been evicted from his 250-hectare farm on the outskirts of Kwekwe by the military. A platoon of 30 soldiers armed with assault rifles and armoured trucks are said to have taken over the farm after receiving an offer letter from Minister of Lands Agriculture and Resettlement, Air Chief Marshal (retired) Perrance Shiri. Shiri was the commander of the Fifth Brigade during the Gukurahundi era.

Part of the offer letter for the 5 Brigade reads,

I am pleased to offer to the Headquarters of 5 Brigade the following farm (Delvillewood Subdivision 1), which was compulsorily acquired in Kwekwe District, Midlands Province for use by the Headquarters 5 Brigade. Please note that the land in question is for institutional use by Headquarters 5 Brigade, Kwekwe, Midlands Province and shall remain state land on which terms and conditions for state land apply.

When contacted for comment, Minister Shiri said,

It would make sense if you speak to the army. But the army is responsible for many projects in agriculture including livestock and banana plantations. I do not remember signing that letter (withdrawal letter). Are you able to prove the authenticity of my signature?

When asked for comment Moyo said,

I have nothing to say about this matter because those in authority have spoken. It is for you to make sense of what you saw at my farm.
