In an interview with 263Chat, secretary general of the Nelson Chamisa led MDC-T Douglas Mwonzora denied claims that his party is divided on the way forward post elections.
Mwonzora said his stance against former President Robert Mugabe should not be misinterpreted as a symptom of fissures as he has always opposed the former Zanu-PF leader since the late 80s. His comments come after the State owned Herald ran a story stating MDC-T is divided over Mugabe. Said Mwonzora:
That’s not true, that’s not true, and there are no cracks at all. I’m not interested in Mr Mugabe and that has been known for the past 25 years or so. I started opposing Zanu PF and Mugabe in 1988.
Speaking on Twitter, Mwonzora also said the story by The Herald is an effort to sow seeds of division. Said Mwonzora:
