Mangwana Slams Chamisa's Lawyer's Comments On Constitutional Court Judgment, Madhuku Says There Is Nothing Wrong
Speaking to The Herald, Zanu-PF Secretary for Legal Affairs Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana said Advocate Thabani Mpofu’s comments on the Constitutional Court (Concourt) judgment that dismissed Nelson Chamisa’s presidential election petition last Friday is contemptuous.
Mangwana said a lawyer is not supposed to criticise the court’s decision especially if they were part of the proceedings. Said Mangwana:
As a lawyer, that is contemptuous of the court. Once the court has made a decision, we are not allowed to criticise it. You are not allowed, especially if you we were part of the court proceedings. We are all bound by that decision.
FeedbackAdvocate Lewis Uriri, who represented President Mnangagwa said Advocate Mpofu is free to do as he pleases while Constitutional Law expert Professor Lovemore Madhuku said there was nothing wrong with Mpofu’s conduct.
