Speaking to NewsDay, Zanu PF secretary for legal affairs, Munyaradzi Paul Mangwana commented on efforts by independent analysts to track Mnangagwa’s delivery, especially pertaining to the Zanu-PF Manifesto.
Mangwana welcomed the development but said at the moment there is nothing to monitor since Mnangagwa has not yet appointed a cabinet. Said Mangwana:
Monitoring Mnangagwa’s performance by independent analysts is a good exercise. But I think the analysts are a bit too fast because one cannot get married and immediately get pregnant and have a baby. So at the moment there is nothing to monitor as there is no cabinet
He said in the future Zanu-PF will also find a way to monitor and evaluate its performance guided by the manifesto. Mangwana added that private analysts are also free to monitor and evaluate Zanu-PF’s performance and to engage government with their critical analysis from three months, up to the five years.
