Zanu-PF secretary for Information and Publicity Simon Khaya Moyo confirmed that the party’s Politburo is meeting today. He said the agenda of the meeting will be made known to members before the meeting.
Zanu-PF is expected to discuss the election of the Speaker of the National Assembly, the Senate President and their deputies, a development that will pave way for the first session of the Ninth Parliament. The party won 145 out of the 210 contested constituencies. The first session of the Ninth Parliament of Zimbabwe will open on September 25 according to President Mnangagwa’s proclamation. Mnangagwa is expected to set the legislative agenda for the new session.
