Harare City Council Extends 50% Promo Deadline After Plea By Ratepayers For More Time

The City of Harare has extended its 50% discount promotion to ratepayers to November 30. Initially, the promotion was supposed to run until 23 October. The extension comes as a result of pleas by ratepayers and residents’  representative groups. Harare City Council spokesperson Michael Chideme said

Yes, we have extended the 50% discount promotion to ratepayers, we hope that they will take this period to settle their debts.

The promotion has resulted in improved revenue inflows. The Council has thus been able to reduce its salary backlog as well channelling more resources towards service delivery.
