Binga Rural District Council chief executive officer, Joshua Muzamba, gave up his position in Zanu- PF Central Committee following the Supreme Court ruled that it is unconstitutional for him to occupy the two posts.
The court, in August ruled that Muzamba must either resign as a Zanu-PF Central Committee member or quit being Binga RDC chief executive officer. In a letter dated October 23, Cde Muzamba, through his lawyers Dube-Banda Nzarayapenga and Partners, Muzamba notified the Registrar of the Supreme Court of his resignation as a Zanu-PF central committee member. Muzamba attached a letter of resignation from his party position addressed to Zanu-PF Secretary of Administration Obert Mpofu citing the ruling by the Supreme Court. The letter was also copied to the party Secretary for Legal Affairs, Paul Mangwana and Matabeleland North provincial chair, Richard Moyo.
