Construction Of Houses Threatens Boreholes In Caledonia

Boreholes are under threat in Caledonia as houses are built around them. Boreholes provide water to most new residential areas in Harare. The City council takes time to provide taped water and in most cases, people rely on boreholes drilled by Non-governmental Organisations. In recent years a large number of boreholes have been found to provide unsafe water. A cholera outbreak earlier this year repoertdly emanated from a contaminated borehole. However, the few boreholes available are now under threat as reported by ZBC News on its Twitter handle
