Tino Kadewere Apologises For Warriors Loss In Monrovia
Warriors striker Tinotenda Kadewere has apologised after the team lost to Liberia on Sunday in the 2019 Afcon qualifiers. He was guilty of missing the target when the score was 0-0 in a match played last night in Monrovia, Liberia.
Zimbabwe needed a draw to book a place at next year’s finals in Cameroon but went down 1-0 in the West African country. William Jebor scored the only goal of the match in the 71st minute after the visitors had wasted several chances moments before. The match eventually ended 1-0 in favour of the hosts. The striker apologised to the fans on his Twitter account and promised a better performance when the Warriors play their last Group G game in March 2019 against Congo at home.
Zimbabwe will need at least a draw from the final match at home to Congo in March next year to book their ticket to Cameroon. They remain on top of Group G with eight points while Liberia moved into the second position with seven. DRC and Congo occupy third and fourth place with 6 and 5 points respectively.
