MDC secretary-general Douglas Mwonzora has called on President Emmerson Mnangagwa to make public the Motlanthe Commission report. The Commission was established by Mnangagwa on September 19 to look into the circumstances that led to the shooting and killing of civilians in Harare CBD on August 1. President Mnangagwa’s spokesperson, George Charamba said that the report is meant for Mnangagwa, and he alone can decide on whether to make it public or not. But Mwonzora, writing on microblogging site Twitter today, said
We hope the comments by George Charamba in the Herald do suggest that
@edmnangagwa will not make the Motlanthe Commission report public. The people deserve to read the report and make their own conclusions.
