Chinotimba, Thabitha Khumalo Hug In Parliament As They Move On From 'Prostitute' Slur [Watch Video]
ZANU PF legislator for Buhera South, Joseph Chinotimba, and MDC’s Thabhita Khumalo have decided to bury the hatchet after the ZANU PF legislator labelled his counterpart a prostitute on Wednesday.
Khumalo had threatened to file a lawsuit against Chinotimba over his utterances. However, on Thursday, the two decided to mend fences as they hugged and confirmed that they had resolved the issue amicably.
Acting Speaker of the House of Assembly, William Mutomba said
I would like to congratulate Chinotimba and Khumalo for burying the hatchet over the Wednesday incident.
On his part, Chinotimba had this to say
Mr Speaker, we are currently observing the 16 days against gender-based violence (GBV) and by burying the hatchet, myself and Khumalo are trying to show people that we must say no to GBV in Parliament and everywhere because it is bad practice.
