Zimbabwean Warriors and Nottingham Forest defender Tendayi Darikwa has been praised for sending his boots and shirts to Zimbabwe to help grassroots football.
Writing on microblogging site Twitter on Sunday, Darikwa said
On behalf of all my teammates and everyone at #NFFC, I will be sending a selection of boots and shirts to help grassroots level football in Zimbabwe.
Darikwa was born in 1991 in Nottingham, in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northen Ireland to expatriate Zimbabweans parents.
He made his Warriors debut in October in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A fan of Darikwa wrote
Thanks, Tendayi for such a good gesture. There is so much talent in grassroots communities with boys playing soccer without boots. This is a motivation to the beneficiaries.
God bless you.
