Leyton Orient head coach Justin Edinburgh dismissed rumours that Zimbabwean striker Macauley Bonne will leave and move higher up the football pyramid in the near future. Reports indicate that Leyton’s 23-year old striker is being coveted by a host of Championship Clubs.
Edinburgh refuted the rumours linking Bonne with a move away from Orient. He said
It is speculation. We have heard nothing as a club and that’s an honest answer.
Do I expect interest? Possibly and am I surprised? No, because we are top of the league and we have some fantastic young players who will catch peoples eye.
We are looking to strengthen rather than let people go and I don’t see us as a selling club.
I am not silly enough to sit here and say he won’t go and no one will because at the end of the day every player has a price no matter what player it is at whatever level, but I would expect that no one will leave the club.
