Zanu-PF Officials Want Former Minister Gandawa's Clinic To Be Repossessed
Zanu-PF officials in Hurungwe are putting pressure on the local rural district council to grab a private clinic owned by former Higher Education deputy minister Godfrey Gandawa.
Gandawa has gone into hiding, saying his life is in danger from state security agents. Addressing a recent meeting in Karoi attended by Mashonaland West Provincial Affairs minister Mary Mliswa-Chikoka, Magunje MP Cecil Kashiri asked Hurungwe rural district councillors and management what action they were taking to repossess Gandawa’s Mudzimu clinic. Said Kashiri:
We have a clinic built by the community, where public resources were used and has been turned into a private property. Can council tell this house when the clinic will be handed over to the community as it is on council ground?
FeedbackHurungwe council chairperson Bradwell Chasara, however, responded by saying that the platform was not the right one to discuss the issue. In an exclusive interview with The Standard, Gandawa said the clinic was privately-owned.
