Former President Robert Mugabe’s son, Chatunga Bellarmine Mugabe has chided Zimbabweans for celebrating the ouster of his father in a military coup in November 2017.
Chatunga said that his father was replaced by “bouncers” or thugs. Writing on microblogging site Twitter, he said:
I laughed when my fellow brothers and sisters celebrated the removal of President RG my Dad and replaced him with his bouncers taizviziva kwazvichasvika here we go.
FeedbackThe word bouncer insinuates that President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputies are thugs who use violence to dealt with issues. Chatunga’s comments come after security forces dealt ruthlessly with protests against austerity measures being driven by Mnangagwa’s administration.
