The Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) is set to bring back the biggest football competition on the local scene, the Zifa Cup. The tournament was last played in 2005 as the Zifa Unity Cup and won by Masvingo United who overcame Highlanders 3-1 on penalties.
The ZIFA president Felton Kamambo said:
The Zifa Cup is definitely on our cards this year. It will be bigger and better than in the past.
The ZIFA Cup draws its participation from all the football teams in the country including social football teams.
Currently, the Chubuku Super Cup is the only knockout competition on the local football calendar.
