Mugabe Tells Mnangagwa; You Are Not God
Former President Robert Mugabe lambasted President Emmerson Mnangagwa during his 95th birthday celebrations held at his Harare mansion.
Mugabe reminded Mnangagwa that power does not last forever and that he had no divine attributes.
Mugabe’s outbursts were first revealed by the spokesperson of the National Patriotic Front (NPF), Jealousy Mawarire. He quoted Mugabe as saying:
You are at the top, you want to glorify yourself.
You are not God. Today you are at the top, tomorrow you will be at the bottom, know that.
God has His own way of punishing rogues and cruel people.
I am telling you in your face. I don’t care what will happen to me.
People should love their army, they should not fear the army.
Mugabe reluctantly quit office in November 2017 after the military staged a coup backed by the masses. His ZANU PF Party disowned him while his closest party allies fled the country after their houses were besieged by soldiers.
