Addressing MDC supporters on Sunday, Nelson Chamisa said he is open to being challenged at the party’s elective congress which is due in May.
Speaking during a thank you rally in Gweru, Chamisa also warned Zanu PF against meddling in the opposition party’s internal affairs. MDC is expected to hold its congress from 24-26 May. Said Chamisa:
We are a matured, democratic and progressive party where all positions are up for contestation. That is what characterises us as a democratic party. The congress is a democratic process to select leadership. It is a process to strengthen the party.
He warned Zanu PF against interfering in the MDC’s internal affairs.
