Zimbabwe Under-23 coach Tonderayi Ndiraya is hopeful that his charges will get a positive result against the Young Black Mambas of Mozambique in the U23 Africa Nations Cup qualifiers.
On Tuesday Ndiraya named a strong 27-member provisional squad which includes foreign-based players.
The Young Warriors of Zimbabwe have failed to qualify for the major tournament in the recent past and Ndiraya is targeting to change the trend. He said:
I am a victim of the failure to qualify for major tournaments when I was still playing for the U23.
I hope that this time around, I break that jinx. With the squad that we have, I am confident that we are going to do it and qualify for the Nations Cup.
The U23 will kick start their campaign against Mozambique on 22 March before the return leg in Harare four days later.
