Former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Holdings boss, Happison Muchechetere’s bid to avoid trial in a matter in which he is accused of contravening the Procurement Act has been dismissed by the High Court Judge.
Muchechetere is set to be summoned to the Magistrate’s court after High Court Judge, Justice Phiri dismissed his application. Muchechetere had lodged an application with the High Court challenging his prosecution arguing that the charges against him were unconstitutional. He allegedly entered into a procurement deal with a Chinese company to purchase an audio outside broadcasting van (OB van) for $1 050 000 without going to tender.
