High Court Judge Censures Chief Charumbira

Chiefs Council president, Chief Fortune Charumbira has been ordered by the High Court to retract his statement where he instructed traditional leaders to support ZANUPF.

Part of the ruling delivered on March 9, 2019, by High Court Judge, Justice Phiri reads:

The first respondent (Chief Charumbira) is hereby ordered to retract in writing the statements that he made to the effect that traditional leaders should support and vote for (ZANU PF) by issuing a countermanding statement in a newspaper with national circulation and endeavour to make the statemet available to private and public media houses and the national broadcaster within 7 days of being served with this order.
