The Young Warriors missed their connecting flight in South Africa on Wednesday and are now set to arrive in Maputo, Mozambique, Thursday afternoon.
The Chronicle reports that a boob in booking arrangements meant that only nine members of the travelling 26 could proceed to Maputo on Wednesday with the rest set to fly out at 1.15pm Thursday afternoon.
A Chronicle source familiar with the development had this to say:
The team will now head straight to training at the match venue upon landing in Maputo, there will be no time to rest for the boys.
The Young Warriors take on Mozambique on Friday in the first leg of the Total African Cup of Nations qualifier.
The return leg is set for the National Sports Stadium next week with the eventual winner facing either Angola or South Africa in the final qualifying process to determine who goes through to the finals in Egypt.
